Well, folks, it’s June, and that means 2025 is already almost half over. But rather than stressing about your New Year’s resolutions, career goals, or life-planning, Decider encourages you to use this as an opportunity to look back on the hottest sex scenes from 2025 movies thus far. That sounds a lot more fun than bullet journaling, doesn’t it?
So far, it hasn’t been a very steamy year at the movies. For whatever reason, sex in 2025 movies has been either non-existent, fully-clothed, or the always-disappointing fade-to-black. More movies tend to come out toward the end of the year thanks to the winter awards season, so perhaps Hollywood will turn up the heat over the next six months. But there are some exceptions, including movies like—Sinners, Mickey 17, and Heart Eyes—that weren’t afraid to get down and dirty in this first part of the year.

Ryan Coogler did not shy away from sex in Sinners, and we’re grateful. There’s no doubt that Hailee Steinfeld is very beautiful, but the hottest sex scene in Sinners—and, indeed, perhaps the hottest sex scene of the year so far—is the raw, tender moment of passion between Smoke (Michael B. Jordan) and his estranged wife Annie (Wunmi Mosaku). First, Annie hits Smoke with some very sensual ear nibbles. The face that Jordan makes when she does is, well, let’s just call it memorable. Then he flips her around and takes her from behind. Despite the lack of nudity, it’s incredibly hot.

Say what you will about Mickey 17, aka Bong Joon-ho’s bizarre follow-up to his Best Picture winner, Parasite. But no one can deny that Mickey 17 was brave enough to do what few clone movies have had the guts for: Clone threesome sex! Robert Pattinson as an “expendable” clone named Mickey, who accidentally doesn’t die when he’s supposed to, resulting—spoiler alert—two Robert Pattinsons. Mickey’s girlfriend, played by the hilarious Naomi Ackie, doesn’t see this as a problem. The three of them don’t quite go all the way, but some fun, sexy times are had by all.

The award for funniest sex scene of 2025 (so far) has to go to Heart Eyes. This 2025 horror comedy—directed by Josh Ruben (known for his other horror comedy Werewolves Within)—is not quite the new Scream, but it certainly has some funny moments. Like, for example, the moment when protagonists Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) dive into the nearest van to hide from the notorious Valentine’s Day killer, Heart Eyes. Unfortunately, the van is already occupied by hippies having very loud, enthusiastic sex. It’s so loud, in fact, that the sex moans end up attracting the killer to their hiding spot. Oops!

Usually, a drunken, out-of-town hook-up between two hot people after a night of drinking at the hotel bar would be hot AF. But in The Life List—the recent Netflix movie adaptation of the 2013 best-selling novel of the same name by Lori Nelson Spielman—the sex scene was totally ruined by the fact that Sofia Carson’s character, Alex, was knowingly helping her sexual partner, Brad (played by Kyle Allen) cheat on his long-term girlfriend. Not cool, Sofia!
